By downloading, installing, or using Trueears ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Trueears is a desktop dictation application that converts your speech to text. The App uses your device's microphone to capture audio, which is then processed by third-party speech-to-text services.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Not use the App to transmit content that violates others' rights
  • Provide your own API keys for speech-to-text services
  • Keep your API keys secure and confidential
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App

4. Privacy and Data Collection

5. Third-Party Services

The App sends your audio to third-party speech-to-text services (such as Groq) for transcription. Your use of these services is also subject to their terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the developers and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The App will meet your specific requirements
  • The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The transcription results will be accurate or complete
  • Any errors in the App will be corrected

8. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

  • Loss of profits or revenue
  • Loss of data
  • Business interruption
  • Any other damages arising from your use of the App

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will require you to re-accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the App.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
